Feng Shui Calendar is a free online planning tool based on the Chinese Tong Shu almanac (通書). Each day is rated using the 12 Day Officers (建除十二神), 28 Lunar Mansions (二十八宿), and your personal Ba Zi (八字) zodiac sign and element. No registration required — all data is stored locally in your browser.
Tong Shu (通書) is an ancient Chinese almanac with over 4,000 years of history, forming the foundation of practical Feng Shui. Every day it identifies auspicious and inauspicious activities based on the lunar calendar, celestial alignments, and the Five Elements cycle (Wu Xing). Day Officers, Lunar Mansions, and Heavenly Stems (干支) together define the unique energy character of every day in the year.
Your Chinese zodiac sign (生肖) and Ba Zi element depend on your birth year in the lunar calendar. Important: the Chinese year does not begin on January 1st, but on Chinese New Year (usually between January 21 and February 20). People born before Chinese New Year belong to the previous year's sign. The app calculates this automatically and assigns you one of five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal or Water.
The 12 Day Officers are the core system of the Tong Shu almanac, assigning one of twelve officers to each day: Cheng (成 Success), Kai (开 Open), Ding (定 Settle), Man (满 Full), Ping (平 Balance), Jian (建 Establish), Shou (收 Receive), Zhi (执 Execute), Chu (除 Remove), Wei (危 Danger), Po (破 Break), Bi (闭 Close). Each officer defines the day's general character and indicates which actions will succeed and which should be avoided.
The Event Selector shows the best days in the month for a specific event. Weddings, business openings, moving home, or medical appointments — each event has different requirements according to Tong Shu. The rating considers your zodiac sign and element, the Day Officer, 28 Lunar Mansions, and the zodiac-day relationship (六冲 clash, 六害 harm). The best wedding days are Officers Cheng and Kai — avoid days with Officer Po.
The Wu Xing system (五行) — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water — is the foundation of Chinese cosmology and Feng Shui. Each day has a dominant element that can support or weaken your personal Ba Zi element. For example: if your element is Water, a Wood day is auspicious for you (Water nourishes Wood). Harmonious element matching significantly increases the effectiveness of your actions.
The year 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse (丙午) in the 60-year Chinese cycle, beginning on February 17, 2026. The Fire element favors creative, business and social activities. The Horse (午) symbolizes movement, travel, ambition and new opportunities. It's an excellent year for starting business projects and planning weddings, but beware of impulsive financial decisions. Check how the Year of the Fire Horse affects your zodiac sign.
The app rates each day on a five-point scale: Excellent (green), Good (blue), Neutral (gray), Avoid (orange), Bad (red). An "Excellent" rating means three key factors align simultaneously: (1) the Day Officer from Tong Shu favors the activity, (2) the day's element supports your Ba Zi element, (3) no zodiac clash (六冲) or harm (六害) between the day and your sign.
Wondering what day it is in Feng Shui today? The calendar automatically opens on today's date and shows the Feng Shui forecast for today: the current Day Officer, Lunar Mansion, dominant element, and day rating for your zodiac sign. You can also check Feng Shui for tomorrow or plan any day in the month. The forecast is updated every day in accordance with the Tong Shu algorithm.
Planning an important event in the coming months? Switch to the month view and use the Selector to find the best day for a wedding, business opening or moving in March, April or May 2026 in seconds. Each month in the Year of the Fire Horse (丙午) has a different distribution of Day Officers — some months are particularly favorable for business, others for family ceremonies.
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of harmonizing energy in space and time. The Tong Shu almanac (通書) identifies auspicious days for important actions based on the 12 Day Officers, 28 Lunar Mansions, and the 60-year cycle (干支). It has been used for over 4,000 years to plan weddings, business openings and other major events.
Go to the Profile tab and enter your birth year — the app calculates your zodiac sign and Ba Zi element automatically, accounting for the Chinese New Year date. You can also select your sign directly from the 12-animal grid.
In the Selector tab, choose the Wedding category. The calendar highlights the best days — Day Officers Cheng (成 Success) and Kai (开 Open) are ideal for wedding ceremonies. Days with Officer Po (破 Break) and zodiac clash days (六冲) should be strictly avoided.
Ba Zi (八字, Eight Characters) is Chinese numerology based on the year, month, day, and hour of birth. This app uses birth year only. Each zodiac sign has an assigned element: Wood (Tiger, Rabbit), Fire (Snake, Horse), Earth (Ox, Dragon, Sheep, Dog), Metal (Monkey, Rooster), Water (Pig, Rat). The element influences compatibility with each day's energy.
Chinese New Year 2026 falls on February 17, 2026. It begins the Year of the Fire Horse (丙午). People born before February 17, 2026 belong to the Snake sign (2025), not the Horse. The app accounts for this boundary automatically when calculating your sign.
Open the app — the calendar automatically shows today's date with today's Feng Shui forecast. You'll see the Day Officer, Lunar Mansion and day rating for your zodiac sign. To check Feng Shui for tomorrow or any other day, just click the chosen date on the calendar grid.
